WORKSHOPS

We run workshops for school children, local organisations and clubs, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.00 pm. Workshop bookings are 1 hour minimum to 4 hours maximum.
Cost of Workshops:
- Local: $2.00 +GST per person per hour or part hour.
- International: $5.00 +GST per person per hour of part hour
- A surcharge of $5.00 +GST (on top of basic workshop cost) applies to all cooking and Aboriginal Motif Pendant making workshops to cover cost of materials.
- Workshops require a minimum of 15 participants. We can accommodate smaller groups at the same cost as a group of 15.
Participants/students are able to keep their paintings and other items made during workshops. You can choose from any or all of the activities below. We are also happy to customize a workshop for your particular interests or requirements (contact us on 6771 3606 or email director@acckp.com.au to discuss what you would like).
Please note that we have listed activities in their suitability for particular age groups.
Activities suitable for pre-school age children:
1. Aboriginal Games (15mins)
2. Storytelling (15mins)
3. Colouring in templates of native animals (15 mins)
4. Songs and dances about native animals, using actions (15mins)
Activities suitable for K-Yr 2:
1. Aboriginal Games (30 mins)

4. Hunting and gathering (30 mins)
5. Dot Drawing (15 mins)
Activities suitable for Yr 3 -6:
1. Tour of Centre and Gallery (15 mins)

4. Bush Tucker Walk (30 mins)
5. Hunting and gathering (30 mins)
6. Object making using Aboriginal tools (15 mins)
7. Dot painting (30 mins)

7. Aboriginal motif pendant making (30 mins)
8. Ochre Painting (30 mins)
9. Aboriginal Cultural Quiz (30 mins)
10. Talk on an aspect of Aboriginal Life with Q and A (30 mins)
Activities suitable for Yr 9-12:
1. Tour of Centre and Gallery (30 mins)

4. Dot painting (30 mins)
5. Cooking using Aboriginal Bush Tucker Spices (30 mins)
6. Aboriginal Motif pendant Making (30 mins)
7. Advanced Painting (1 hour- participants are encouraged to bring their own canvas or board to paint on).
8. Aboriginal Cultural Quiz (30 mins)
9. Talk on an aspect of Aboriginal Life with Q and A (30 mins)
Activities suitable for Adults:
1. Tour of Centre and Gallery (30 mins.)
2. Bush Tucker Walk (30 mins)
3. Talk on an aspect of Aboriginal Life or History with Q and A (30 mins)
4. Boomerang Throwing (30 mins)
5. Painting: dot (30 mins), Ochre (30 mins), Advanced (1 hour - participants are encouraged to bring their own canvas or board to paint on).
6. Cooking using Bush Tucker spices (30 mins)
