A Living Culture

The Armidale Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place proudly presents "A Living Culture," a compelling exhibition by acclaimed Torres Strait Islander mother-daughter artist duo Zeita Davis and Aiyana Tranter. Opened on April 4th 2025, the exhibition features a stunning collection of works that invoke deeper understanding of our connection to land despite not always being on or near our ancestral lands.

Davis steps out of her usual style of fine black and white and shares vibrant pieces that weave together traditional motifs with modern artistic techniques. The use of ochre, symbolism and imagery throughout the exhibition depicts our connection to the stars, mother earth and everything in between.

The exhibition runs from March 21-May 30, with an artist talk scheduled for the opening weekend. Entry is free, with donations welcomed to support ACCKP’s ongoing cultural programs.
